Biographical Sketch:  Walter W. Moreland was a long-time member of the Dothan Rotary Club and its newsletter editor, ca. 1958-59, 1986-[99].

Moreland, born in Thomasville, GA, in 1919, returned to the Wiregrass after U.S. Army service in Egypt during World War 2 (clerk in Adjutant General's Office).  He worked for the W. J. Moreland joined Rotary in October 1952 and became the Dothan Club president for 1956-57.  He was a Paul Harris Fellow and served on multiple Rotary committees, foundations, and other bodies.  In the Dothan community, Moreland served on many committees and governing boards for Covenant UMC Church, the Houston County Red Cross, Boys Club, Chamber of Commerce, and City of Dothan Personnel Board.

His son, Les Moreland, joined the Dothan Rotary Club at age 21 and in 1996 served as president.
