Computer Science

This major is available through multiple campuses of 快猫成版视频 and through TROY Online. Please contact specific campuses for program availability.

AREA I-V Recommendations

AREA I:

A grade of "C" or higher is required in Composition I and II at 快猫成版视频.  "D" grades will not transfer.

AREA II:

When selecting courses from Areas II and IV, please note that at least one 6sh sequence in either Literature (Area II) or History (Area IV) must be completed.

AREA III:

A grade of "C" or higher is required in the Math course chosen.  "D" grades will not transfer.

Students attending 快猫成版视频 are required to take a Calculus course.  Students attending a community college are strongly encouraged to take MTH 125(Calculus I) to meet this requirement.

Students pursuing the 鈥�48 hour Computer Science PROGRAM鈥� (not 36 hour APPLIED MAJOR) with TROY must complete a General or Physics with Calculus lecture/lab.  Students attending a community college are strongly encouraged to take PHY 201(General Physics I) or PHY 213(Physics with Calculus I) to meet this requirement. 

 

AREA IV:

When selecting courses from Areas II and IV, please note that at least one 6sh sequence in either Literature (Area II) or History (Area IV) must be completed.

AREA V:

The remaining 19 SH in Area V can be obtained at the community college by taking 19 SH from the following:

• ORI 101 (Orientation to College)(1 SH) 
• Free Electives (1-18 SH)
• MTH 125 (Calculus I)(4SH) - if not already taken
• CIS 251 or CIS 285(C++ Programming or Object Oriented Programming(3SH)                                                                                                                                   

(NOTE:  MTH 126(Calculus II) is NOT required at 快猫成版视频.  If taken, it will count as Free Elective credit ONLY. )(Please contact specific campuses for major/program availability.)

 

快猫成版视频 Baccalaureate Degrees

The student seeking a baccalaureate degree must meet the following credit hour requirements:

1. A minimum of 120 SH
2. At least 50 percent of the degree program must be traditional academic credit.
3. No more than 25 percent of the degree program may be earned using portfolio based credit.
4. At least 25 percent of the degree program must be completed with 快猫成版视频.
5. Twelve (12) semester hours of work in each major field must be completed in residence at 快猫成版视频.
