Area V

Interprofessional Health Sciences

This major is available through the Troy Campus and through TROY Online.

 

AREA I-V Recommendations:

AREA I:

A grade of "C" or higher is required in Composition I and II at ¿ìè³É°æÊÓƵ.  "D" grades will not transfer.

 

AREA II:

When selecting courses from Areas II and IV, please note that at least one 6sh sequence in either Literature (Area II) or History (Area IV) must be completed.

 

AREA III:

A grade of "C" or higher is required in the Math course chosen.  "D" grades will not transfer.

 

AREA IV:

When selecting courses from Areas II and IV, please note that at least one 6sh sequence in either Literature (Area II) or History (Area IV) must be completed.

 

AREA V:

The remaining 19sh in Area V can be obtained at the community college by taking 19sh from the following:

  • CIS 146 (Microcomputer Applications) (3 SH)
  • ORI 101 (Orientation to College) (1 SH)
  • Advisor Approved Electives (12-15 SH) (The TROY contact provided below can provide the best advisement regarding these electives.) A list of possible electives is as follows: 
    • BUS 100 – Introduction to Business
    • BUS 241 – Principles of Accounting I
    • BUS 242 – Principles of Accounting II
    • BUS 275 – Principles of Management
    • BUS 285 – Principles of Marketing
    • BIO 201 – Human Anatomy and Physiology I
    • BIO 202 – Human Anatomy and Physiology II
    • BIO 220 – General Microbiology
    • Any Natural Science from Area III and/or Economics, Psychology, or Sociology courses from Area IV that have not already been taken.

 

¿ìè³É°æÊÓƵ Baccalaureate Degrees

The student seeking a baccalaureate degree must meet the following credit hour requirements:

  1. A minimum of 120 SH
  2. At least 50 percent of the degree program must be traditional academic credit.
  3. No more than 25 percent of the degree program may be earned using portfolio-based credit.
  4. At least 25 percent of the degree program must be completed with ¿ìè³É°æÊÓƵ.
  5. Twelve (12) semester hours of work in each major field must be completed in residence at ¿ìè³É°æÊÓƵ.
