Faculty Guidance for Classroom COVID-19 Exposure

快猫成版视频 is made aware of COVID-19 cases when a student receives a diagnosis at the campus health center, or if they self-report. The following procedures will apply when the University is made aware of a student case of COVID-19:
- You will be notified via email by the Dean of Students that a student in your class has been diagnosed with COVID-19. This student should not be identified to other students in the class.
- It is your responsibility to notify the class. A suggested template for classroom notification is available here. Students should observe the following protocols:
- Students who are fully vaccinated, do not need to quarantine. They may continue to attend class as long as they do not develop symptoms. Vaccinated students should monitor themselves for symptoms. If at any point they start to feel sick, they should seek testing and quarantine.
- Students who are NOT fully vaccinated, must immediately quarantine for at least 10 days. They may resume attending class after that time as long as they do not develop symptoms. If at any point they start to feel sick, they should seek testing.
- The CDC standard for 鈥渇ully vaccinated鈥 is:
- 2 weeks after the second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or
- 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson's Janssen vaccine.
- Students who need to quarantine due to exposure must notify the University by completing the .
- In-person teaching should continue with vaccinated students in attendance. Please work with students who must quarantine to ensure they are able to complete coursework.
- Faculty members should follow the same procedures for exposure.
- If you are fully vaccinated, you may continue teaching as long as you do not develop symptoms.
- If you are unvaccinated, you may have been exposed and should quarantine as outlined above. Notify your department chair and develop a plan for continued class operations.
- Anyone (faculty or student) who is tested and receives a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19 (regardless of vaccination status) must isolate for at least 10 days AND at least 24 hours without symptoms. Students who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 must notify the University by completing the in order to receive an excused absence.
